One of the best things about Suffolk and the reason why I'm actually here and made the choice to come here is because they have that smaller class size. And so you get that one on one time with the professor that you really wouldn't get at a bigger school. And I also just love in all my classes, especially in my major courses for Journalism, we do a lot of hands-on work. And so we'll be working with the camera and just getting that hands-on experience is really great, because I feel much more prepared as I get ready to enter the professional world.
I am the Vice President of [the] Black Student Union. So during activities period, I do a lot of leadership roles in terms of that Sometimes I meet with my executive board members and have conversations about when our next meeting is going to be or I'm also a Diversity Peer Educator on campus on which allows for me to facilitate a lot of social justice workshops for staff, students, faculty members.
I'm a Law major with a double minor in Math and Spanish. So with a double minor that does come with a lot of academic work. Once I wrap up with my classes, I normally go to the Sawyer Library. I normally book a room in advance because they do get booked very quickly here. I normally take about two to four hours to myself where I'm able to work on homework, prepare for my LSAT exams, and then study for any regular class exams that I have coming up, and then prepare for my following week.
Everyone wants to travel abroad. Everyone wants to be able to see the world. When you come to Suffolk, you are encouraged to do it. It's something that you hear about almost every single day. I have a couple of friends that both did abroad that went to the Madrid campus and they literally traveled all over Europe. They were in Portugal one day, they were in Paris the next. And that's something that you can't really say that your college offers unless you actually do it and Suffolk is going to definitely encourage you to do it.
